The Windmill Farm of Pililla Rizal

Don't have time to travel to Ilocos Norte to witness the air blowing the windmill of Bangui? Pililla Rizal has that! Yes, it's just Two to Three hours away from Manila and people can visit the Pililla Windmill Farm of Rizal province.

This Windmill Farm is a project of Alternergy Corporation that is dedicated to harvest clean energy by using renewable source of power. This 54MW windmill farm can support almost 66,000 households in Metro Manila and it is also good for the environment because it is clean and renewable. The farm has a total of 27 giant wind turbines scattered around 64 hectares of land / mountains in the province of Rizal and building this facility costs US $145 Million (P6,525,000,000) and it started operations June 2015.

Going to this place is just easy especially if visitors will travel via private vehicle. From Manila, go to Antipolo City then head to the roads going to Tanay Rizal, after this town, you need to go up to the zigzag road of Pililla going to Real Quezon and you will find the "Pililla Windmill farm" sign on the left side on your way.

If visitors want to travel via public transport, ride a jeepney or UV express going to Tanay Rizal. This transportation's terminal can be usually found at Cubao, Quezon City. At Tanay town's intersection, visitors can rent a tricycle going to Pililia for P180 to P200, ask them to wait for you because going back to Tanay's intersection via public transportation will be hard.

While on the road, make sure to discover the beautiful sceneries of Rizal province. Traveler can also spot the wind turbines while on the way to the farm.

I can't stop but watch the beautiful surroundings of this town while on my way to the farm, the residents has a simple and normal life. It seems that they don't have any problem living in province, unlike in Metro Manila that is full of pollution and stress. haha! While on the road, I saw the welcome sign of the windmill farm, make sure to slow down to avoid being bumped by the car behind you (Cars on the zigzag roads of Pililia are fast). Good thing they have the sign to avoid being lost.

Being in this farm is so relaxing, the air is fresh and it is so peaceful. I will keep on coming back in this place to have a picnic. Yes, you can have some picnic here because locals are offering a kubo for rent for P100 per hour and visitor can bring some food.

Kubo for rent (100.00 per hour)

This farm became a tourist spot in the province of Rizal, like in Bangui, Ilocos, visitors can buy some cute windmill souvenirs. Buying this cute windmill models help the locals on their daily living, at least, this new farm boost their economy.

Windmill models for display (P100 to P120 each)

Keychain wind turbines (P40 each)

White windmill souvenirs (P85 each)

I myself is an environmentalist and I am happy to see this kind of facility that harvests clean and renewable energy. This windmill turbine type of power plant do not damage the environment, unlike coal power plants that some government officials want to build for cheaper energy. I hope that there will be more renewable energy farm to be built throughout the country to preserve the beauty of this nation. This farm is not just a tourist spot, but this farm can also show the world that the Philippines can also build this kind of expensive but clean energy power plants.

Visit this beautiful farm soon and you won't regret going here. See and witness how this company deliver us a clean and renewable energy. Wondering how they build this windmill farm? Watch this video by alternergy:
